Your Instructors

Michele Hayman.  Teaches:  Boot Camp, World Rhythms
Michele has been teaching and training instructors for 20+ years. Her classes are a great combination of hard work and fun. She uses music from most of the decades so don’t be surprised if she has you shake’n your hips and groov’n to the beat.
Linda Brisbin.  Teaches:  Senior Stability Ball
Linda teaches our senior stability ball class. She’s a 20+ year veteran of the YMCA and has a specialty in working with seniors.
Mikki Reidel.  Teaches:  Yoga, Stability Ball, Step, Indoor Cycling, Power Hour
Mikki has been teaching  and training instructors for 15+ years. Her workouts are tough with contemporary music and lots of class interaction.
Jinny McCartney.  Teaches:  STOTT Pilates, Yoga
Jinny has been teaching, training instructors and educating for 20+ years. Her classes are challenging for athletes yet she is able to teach beautifully to beginners.
Bunny Cornwall.  Teaches:  Body Blast
Bunny has been teaching for 20+ years. Her cool style, warm attitude and world music makes her class feel a bit exotic and not run-of-the-mill. Beginners and athletes all get a workout.
Dean Lancaster.  Teaches:  Total Body, Power Hour
Dean has been teaching at this YMCA for 8 years. He makes lifting heavy things fun and his
students love his “coaching” style.
Bruce Monro.  Teaches:  Indoor Cycling
Bruce is our resident cycling maniac. He’s been teaching indoor cycling for 5 years. Beginners
are welcome but look out...he’s a wild man on the bike.
Deb Reed.  Teaches:  Active Older Adults, Indoor Cycling
Deb has been teaching classes for 5 years. You’ll find her in with the Active Older Adults one
minute and then putting the bikers through their paces in indoor cycling the next. Beginners
and athletes alike get a great workout.
Marian Byse.  Teaches:  Active Older Adults
Marian has a heart for seniors and her dedication to our A.O.A. program is evidence of that.
She has been teaching classes for us for 7 years.
Sarah Methner: Personal Trainer
When it comes to winning the weight loss battle, and getting fit, Sarah has “been there, done
that”. She’s been working one-on-one with members for a little over a year now.
Deena Pugmire:  Fitness Center
You will find Deena’s smiling face in the Fitness Center both morning and again in the early evening.  She is the perfect person to ask for help.
Sean Duron.  Teaches:  Boot Camp:
Sean is our new resident Boot Camp instructor and comes to us via the U.S.C.G. so that’s Mr. Boot Camp to you!  His classes are definitely not for the faint of heart but if you want a challenge and to smile doing it…Sean is your guy.
Danielle DeMetz.  Teaches:   Step
We are fortunate to have had Danielle as part of our team for a few years.  Her classes are great for athletes and beginners alike.
Barb Oliver. Teaches:  Active Older Adults:
Barb, a veteran instructor from the William Shore Memorial Pool, came to teach “land exercise” for us about a year ago.  She currently works with the A.O.A. classes in the morning.
Shawn Sinskie.  Teaches: Indoor Cycling
Sean is another one of our resident “outdoor” cyclists turned “indoor” instructor.  He uses his outdoor expertise to enhance his classes.
Bryn Cross.  Teaches:  Yoga, Indoor Cycling:
Bryn’s manner of teaching Yoga is non-competitive and suitable for beginners as well as practiced participants.  We recently talked her into also teaching Indoor Cycling.

We encourage you to take advantage of our instructors' expertise and the wide array of fitness classes we offer. Remember, they're all included in the cost of membership!
